2024 Sutton Early Bird
Tournament Rules

Game Time:
● Game consists of 2–20-minute running time halves
● Stop time the last 2 minutes of each half
● Exception: 2nd half if team leading > 20 points - clock will continue to run
● 5-minute halftime - (may be reduced if running behind schedule)
● 3 full timeouts per game - can be used any time - no carry over into overtime

Overtime:
● 3-minute overtime (2-minute running, last minute stop time)
● 1 timeout in overtime - no carry over from regulation
● ONLY ONE OVERTIME PERIOD WILL BE PLAYED. If tied after one overtime, games will end in a tie.

Fouls:
● Player fouls out after 5th personal foul
● Double bonus (2 shots) on the 10th team foul each half

Press Rule:
● 6-8th grade: No press allowed if lead is more than 10 points. No restriction on defense style. Press limit is 10 points
● 4-5th grade: No press allowed if lead is more than 6 points
● CMYBL Full Court Press: • 4th & 5th grade: Man-to-man full court press permitted during last 3 minutes of each half ONLY, as well as well as during any overtime period(s). Press limit is 6 points

Game Ball:
● Regulation ball used for 7th and 8th grade boys
● 28.5” ball is used for all girls, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade boys

Hoops:
• All divisions 10 foot hoops.
• 3rd - 4th grade boys and 5th grade girls will play on middle school gym/slightly shorter court.

Home Team:
● The “Home” team shall wear white jerseys if available.
