Tournament Administrative Rules
1. Team roster, names of coaches (2 maximum) and contact information must be submitted with registration.
2. This is a school/community based tournament, not intended for regional all-star or “AAU” teams. All players included on your roster MUST attend the sponsoring school, public or parochial.
3. Protests of PLAYER ELIGIBILITY ONLY are permitted. The tournament director will rule on the eligibility of the player in question. The ruling is final and not subject to further appeal.
4. Players may participate at their grade level or any grade level above.
5. Two coaches are permitted on the bench—coaches will not be charged for admission but must sign-in at the gate. Per OHSAA rules, only the head coach is permitted to talk to the officials during the game and only one coach is permitted to be standing (off the bench) during a live ball situation. A violation of this rule can result in a bench technical foul.
6. Head coaches are responsible for the conduct of their players, their assistant coach, AND their fans. Failure to control and maintain an environment of good sportsmanship by the head coach can results in game forfeiture and immediate elimination from the tournament. Fans that are asked to leave a game for conduct reasons may also be barred from attending future games. All forfeits and tournament suspensions are at the discretion of the tournament director.
7. A minimum guarantee of three games includes two pool-play games to determine the team’s seeding for the single elimination tournament. If a particular division has a low number of teams participating, the minimum number of games may be extended. Should teams have identical records, the tie-breakers for seeding purposes are: 1. head-to-head record, 2. point differential (+/- 15 per game maximum), 3. points allowed, 4. coin flip. At the end of each game, the Head Coach of each team is responsible for checking the Official Scorebook to confirm the final score. The score in the Official Scorebook will be considered final. Pool-play and bracket results will be emailed and/or displayed on a shared webpage to each head coach as soon as they are available. Game times and locations will be sent to each head coach via email and/or shared webpage. It is the coach’s responsibility to have his/her team in the appropriate gym at the appropriate time.
8. Tournament directors will do their best to accommodate scheduling conflicts which may arise from teams participating in additional tournaments. Requests which jeopardize the tournament staying “on time” may not be accommodated. Please add known conflicts to registration form.
9. Teams are responsible for providing their own warm-up basketballs.
10. Tournament officials reserve the right to amend rules in the best interest of the tournament.
