PYFFO Rules
Team:
A team consists of at least 7 players. If a team does not have 7 players by the scheduled time of game, the game can then be played 5v5. Or, the team that is short can find a player from the same division as substitute. Both Coaches must agree.
Rules:
Shirts must be tucked in to not interfere/cover flags. If this happens during play with the ball carrier, a dead ball will be called and play redone.
No Metal Spikes or Jewelry worn
The game will consist of a 40min period with a continuous clock. 4 Timeouts per game. Injury/Equipment issue referee will stop clock. If extremely warm, extra water breaks will be used as needed.
There will be no Kickoffs/punts. Each Half and after each score, drives will start on 5 yard line
Team sends captains to perform Coin Toss or Rock/Paper Scissors for starting possession.
Substitute players at possession changes. If injury/bathroom break/meltdowns etc. then sub as needed.
During injury time will be stopped and the child must sit out at least 1 play. If Injury happens again to the same child, the child is out for the remainder of the half.
Dead Balls:
Ball Carrier falls to the ground
Incomplete Pass
Fumble
Snap hits the ground(K-2 replay down, 3-4 loss of down)
Spectators run onto the field.
Scoring:
Touchdown=6 points
Extra point is automatic if you choose 1point option
Extra point try from 10 yard line=2 points
Running back a interception on a 2point try=2points
Safety=2 points
Offense/Defense:
60 Seconds to put the ball in play once the ball is spotted/set for K2
35 Seconds to pull the ball in play once the ball is spotted/set for 3-5G
QB must have possession of the ball before it is handed off or passed
The ball must be snapped between the legs
If snap is fumbled, K-2 Redo play, 3-4 Loss of Down
All players are eligible for a pass
Only 1 forward pass per play.
If Ball Carrier knocks off 1 of their own flags, it is then 1 hand touch on ball carrier
Only 1 foot down is necessary for completion
No Mercy rule
K-2 has 4 downs to reach midfield/1st down. Upon Turnover on Downs the Ball will go to the opposite 5 yard line. Teams may agree to play in the same direction if the sun is an issue.
3-5G has 4 downs to reach midfield/first down. Upon Turnover on Downs the ball will be spotted at the last advanced spot. On 4th down team has the option to punt(simulate) down to 5 yard line
K-2 no rushing the QB. The QB has a 10 count to get rid of the ball before the official calls a sack. Ball spotted where the QB was at time of the call.
3-5G QB has 10 seconds to throw a pass, after such a coverage sack is called and ball will be spotted at where the QB was at the time of the call.
3-5G QB can be immediately blitzed upon snap, at that time QB can become a runner. During this 10 count sack is nullified. If the QB is NOT rushed then 10 count sacks are in play. Only 3 Blitz per game allowed. No Blitzing upon possession change at the 5yard line and in.
Play is Dead once Flag is pulled
K-2 Defense cannot cross the Line of Scrimmage until the ball is handed off or passed.
K-2 Interceptions are dead on the spot. Ball placed/possession change at Interception point
3-5G Interceptions are live and can be returned
K-2 offense must wait for defense to be set before running play.
3-5G offense can run play/offense as fast as they can after. Do not have to wait for defense to get set. exception, on change of possession offense must wait 1st play till defense is set.
Huddle/Hide the ball is illegal. Having 6 players moving forward right ahead of the ball falls into the “blocking” penalty.
Penalties:
Flag Guarding or Stiff Arming - 5 yard Penalty
Delay of Game - 5 yard Penalty
Offsides(after warning) - 5 yard Penalty
Blocking of Any Kind - 5 yard Penalty from spot of foul
Tackling, Tripping, running over a defensive player: if called on defense -automatic first down and ball placed at midfield or 5yard line. if called on offense, loss of down and ball moved back to midfield or opposite 5 yard line.
Diving excessively: first offense a warning, 2nd offense player sits remainder of game.
Pass Interference, accept - 1st down at spot of foul or result of play with automatic 1st down. If Interference called on offense, loss of down and ball moved back to midfield or 5yard line.
Taunting/poor sportsmanship 1st offense: warning. 2nd offense: Benched
Code of Conduct:
No Fighting
No foul language from Coach/player/spectators
No badgering coaches/refs from spectators
No Drugs or Alcohol permitted in the Park
Smoking is not permitted in the vicinity of playing fields.
Everyone is responsible for their own trash
If any of the listed conduct rules are deemed broken the violator will be asked to leave the park
