About the AC League
The Adams County Youth Basketball League (AC League) is built on more than just basketball — it’s about teaching sportsmanship, building friendships, and giving kids the chance to grow both on and off the court.
Our mission is to provide a positive environment where players learn the fundamentals of the game, develop teamwork skills, and form lifelong friendships. This league is about the kids — not the adults. Parents and fans play a key role in setting the tone for encouragement, respect, and support. Poor behavior, negativity, or parents acting in a way that takes away from the players’ experience will not be tolerated.
Officials are also a vital part of our league. They are here to guide the game, support the players, and help create a safe and fair experience. Without officials, the AC League would not be possible. Please treat them with respect, as they are giving their time to help your child and every child in the league grow.
This is not about chasing college scholarships — it’s about learning, growing, and having fun. Every child deserves to be cheered on in their efforts, regardless of the scoreboard. Together, we can make the AC League a place where young athletes thrive and families celebrate the joy of youth sports.
No refs, no game. If you’re interested in becoming a licensed official, you can apply for your permit through the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA):

- Coaches are responsible for game cancellations.
- The site coordinators aren’t responsible for any changes
- If a coach needs to cancel a game, you will need to contact every coach involved in changing the schedule and get it approved with all coaches involved. Then contact the site coordinator and confirm the schedule change.
- Every player must play, at least, the equivalent of one quarter — not applicable during tournament — unless disciplinary action taken for missing practice, parents, etc.
- Coaches allowed (3) one minute time outs per game.
- (1) extra one minute timeout per overtime.
- First overtime in case of tie —2 minutes. Second overtime in case of tie — 1 minute. After that, sudden death: first team to score wins. Coaches can agree to end the game with a tie.
- Tournament games are played in 3-minute overtimes, until winner.
- Coaches getting a technical foul - MUST SIT the remainder of the game.
- Coaches getting a 2nd technical foul will be ejected and suspended for 2 games — will not be allowed in any county gym for 2 games.
- Players receiving a technical foul, same rules as coaches.
- Parents or fans that are ejected are suspended for 2 of their games and not allowed in any county gym.
- If a team needs a “float player” - the point is to play the game not to win the game. If a float player is used, it is the responsibility of that coach to notify the other team. A forfeit can be issued.
