World Football League
À propos World Football League
The World Football League is a gridiron football league that began play in 1991 in 10 cities in North America and Europe. The league dropped the North American teams after the 1994 season, and re-started with 6 teams in European countries which now consist of unified nations known collectively as the European Union. Today, there are 10 teams in 9 EU provinces and one capital district: St. George.
The WFL plays by Canadian Football rules with a offensive playing style similar to that of the A11 offence, which makes the EU-style football more aero-dynamic. Half the league qualifies for the playoffs each year, consisting of winners from 3 divisions: Legends, Heroes and Stars, plus two wildcard teams. The WFL season ends with the EuroBowl, played around Christmas. There is no Pro Bowl in the WFL.
