About OAL Middle School League

We of the Oakland Athletic League believe that a broad program of interscholastic athletics has a high potential for contributing to the development of youth which is consistent with the major objectives of the Oakland Unified School District's educational program.

We believe that through involvement in the interscholastic program values will be gained that contribute greatly to the development of students in becoming productive members of society.
Among these values are good sportsmanship, fair play, honesty, self respect, perseverance and courage,respect for rules and authority, responsibility, leadership and initiative, courtesy for others, cooperation and team work, and subordination of self to the welfare of the team and school.

We believe education is the primary objective for students Oakland Section for attending school. We require student athletes to achieve and maintain the standards set by the league in scholarship.
