Spring Bocce 2023 – Fun for a cause!
What am I playing for?: Well, the beer and camaraderie of course! Oh, and charity! Once your team has been drawn from the hat, you and your teammates need to identify what charity, as a team, your team will play for. The only requirement here is that it be a registered 501[c]3 charity – and no, Siracusa’s nor Dave are a charity. At least not in this definition. If your team wins the championship, your teams selected charity will receive the pot as a donation on behalf of Siracusa’s Spring Bocce.
How are teams assembled: Everyone interested in playing Bocce must register on the website as an individual free agent. On Saturday 3/25 all of the free agent names are put in a hat and players will be drawn and teams will be constructed one player per team until teams reach a maximum of six players
How much is registration? $XX.XX which must be paid online when you register as a free agent
What are the dates I need to know?
Registration starts: Friday, March 10
Registration ends: Wednesday March 22
Team draft day: Saturday, March 25 at Siracusa’s – starting at 5 P.M.
First games: Wednesday, March 29
When do we play?
Like fall Bocce and because it seems to fit most folks schedules (sorry Mr. Funk) games will be scheduled on Wednesdays and Saturdays for regular season and playoff games. Make ups can be played on any day
What are the rules:
Generally, fall bocce rules apply, but here are a few clarifications for Spring:
· 2 players must play a game during regular season
· 4 players must play any playoff games
· Only players who are registered and who have paid can play – should be obvious but this is for charity
· If a team needs to add a player in order to field a team (e.g. a substitution), the substituting player must be registered and fee paid in advance of the game where the sub is playing. In other words – everyone playing must be registered and paid .. again, it’s for Charity folks.
· If a team on game day is unable to field enough registered players within 15 minutes of published start time, then the team unable to field enough players will forfeit that game
· Rescheduling given schedule conflicts is permitted, BUT it must be done prior to the scheduled start time and be coordinated between the two teams. If your team is rescheduling, text Meredith at XXXXX
