O nas Keswick Men's Slo-Pitch

Keswick Men’s Slo-Pitch League Rules
2024

Game Format
The home team is responsible for setting and cleaning up bases. They will be listed as the first team on the schedule.
Games will be 7 innings unless there is permit time restriction. In this case, an ump will declare “Last Inning” and both teams will have the same number of at bats.
All pitches will be delivered with an arc between 6’ and 12’
No sliding at 1st or at home. Sliding at 2nd and at 3rd is allowed.
No metal cleats.
Anticipation is allowed for runners when the batter swings, however, the runner may only move a reasonable distance. Advancing too far will be called a lead-off and an out at the ump’s discretion.
All bats must have a thumbprint to be used, unless the batter is over 60.
Grey dot balls will be used when available.
An overthrow from the outfield will result in 2 bases gained, and an overthrow from the infield will result in 1 base gained.
Infield fly will be in effect. Only the batter is out.
If the fields are closed by the town for whatever reason, we cannot play and would not be covered by insurance.
If a field is not closed by the town and rain begins during gameplay, team captains will decide whether or not to proceed. If they can’t come to an agreement, the ump will make the decision. If 4 innings have been completed, the game result will stand. If not, a rain out game will be scheduled.
In the event of a tie in the standings, head-to-head will first be considered, then wins, then run differential, then runs for. If there are multiple teams tied, the first tiebreaker is wins against the tied teams, then run differential.

Runs/Home Runs
7-run maximum per inning, with an open 7th inning.
Any team may not have more than 2 home runs more than another team (+2). Each additional home run will be considered and out.
When there is a play at home, no tags are allowed. The catcher may touch any part of the board for an out.
A commitment line will be used when approaching home. Any runner that passes it must continue home.

Players/Runners
Each team must field 8 players to avoid a forfeit.
If a team is short, a catcher will be provided by the other team, but does not need to make plays at home–only return the ball to the pitcher. Teams may decide to allow a borrowed catcher to make plays at home.
Only rostered players can play in playoffs, and must have played a minimum of 5 games in the regular season to be eligible. Players cannot be borrowed from other teams.
A player arriving late to the game can be added as a late entry at the bottom of the lineup only until the end of the fourth inning. If his name is on the batting order and he is not present, it will be considered an out for each at bat.
Injured players will be declared at the start of each game, and may use the last out for a runner only when they reach 1st base. If they hit a single and the fielding team makes an error, they may advance to 2nd and still take a runner.
Only a player who gets injured during the game may use the last out as a runner from the fence.
3 courtesy runners may be used during a game. If the courtesy runner is on base when it is his turn to bat, another courtesy must be used. If 3 courtesy runners have already been used, the at bat will be considered an out.
Any player ejected from a game will sit the next game as well, unless you hear otherwise from the convener after captains have discussed the situation.
