The Castlefield Champions Cup is an annual MiniRoos invitational tournament, first held in 2002 and run by the Sandringham Soccer Club at the end of the winter season.
Now in its 23rd year, the event aims to feature 64 teams competing across 8 divisions of 8 teams each, split into 2 pools of 4. Age groups range from U8 to U11, with separate competitions for boys and girls. Each team plays 3 round robin matches, followed by semi-finals and grand finals.
The one-day tournament is held at the Spring Street Sandringham venue, with games consisting of two 15-minute halves and a five-minute halftime break.
Maximum squad sizes are 11 for U8 and U9, and 13 for U10 and U11. All players must be of the correct age or younger for their group, with Football Victoria MiniRoos rules applying.
Matches are officiated by the club’s Budding Referees.
