  • Uniforms: Team uniform shirts do not need to be numbered. Team players are to have the same color shirts, shorts, and socks (style does not need to match). Shin guards and soccer cleats are mandatory. Jewelry should be removed or wrapped and taped. Fitness trackers can be worn if covered, padded and taped. It is the responsibility of the Team Captain to check jewelry and shin guards. Braces need to be padded and/or covered. Referee has the discretion to require jewelry and watch removal. Points: Points will be awarded in the preliminary round as follows: Win = 6 points Tie = 3 points Loss = 0 points Shutout = 1 point Each team will receive one (1) point for each goal scored up to a maximum of three (3) goals. Maximum allowable points per game are ten (10) points. A zero-zero (0-0) tie will be counted as four (4) points for each team. Remember only 3 goals scored in a game count for game points. Any more than that will have no bearing on the standings. Please DO NOT run up the score! NOWHERE is “Most Goals Scored” a consideration in standings or tie-breaker. Standings for all Divisions: Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams in each division. Division winners will be determined by either playoff games or points standings. If the determining game ends in a tie, winner will be determined by penalty kicks. If there should be a tie between two teams, the following criteria to determine standings will be used: Winner of common game (head-to-head) Team with the most wins Team with the least goals scored against them Kicks from the mark, the first round uses five (5) players from each team against the opposing goalie; if still tied, five (5) more players from each team will take kicks; if still tied, remaining players from each team will alternate kicks until one team achieves a one-point advantage and that team will be declared the winner. Home / Visitor and Kickoff: The first team listed on the schedule is Home team and will change shirts in case of a color conflict. The Home team will also choose the side of the field on which they wish to start; Visiting team will have kick-off. Starting play and forfeits: All teams must be ready to compete at the assigned field unless notified by a tournament official. There will be a waiting period of 5 minutes, as timed by the referee. Teams must have at least 7 players to start the game. Teams with less than 7 players at the end of the waiting period will forfeit the game and the opposing team will be awarded a 1-0 win. Substitution: Substitutions require referee permission on a dead ball. Players must leave the field as the incoming player is entering the field of play. Slide Tackling: Slide tackling, whether to achieve possession of the ball or to defend against a player, is NOT allowed and will result in a free kick at the point of occurrence. Cautions/Cards will be used for repeat sliding violations. Coaching: Opposing teams may end up on the same side of the field due to space limitations. Coaches must remain in their 10-foot coaching area, starting 5 feet from the midline. Cautions/Fouls/Cards: Any player receiving a yellow card must leave the field for 5 minutes (a substitution is permitted). A second yellow card to the same player in the same game will result in a red card and ejection from the game (no substitution is allowed and the team will complete the game with one less player). Any player receiving a red card is ejected from that game and may NOT play in the next game. The player’s team must play “short” for the remainder of that game but does not play “short” for the next game. If the referee calls the game because of actions of a team, its fans/spectators, the game will be forfeited to the opposing team. The forfeiting team will receive 0 points and the winning team will be awarded the points based on the score at the time of the forfeit or a 1-0 win, whichever is greater. Decisions: Calls made by the referee cannot be protested. Any decision not covered by either FIFA or these rules will be decided by the Women’s Soccer Commissioner and/or Field Assistant; that decision is final. This includes any behavior by a player, coach, or spectator that is deemed by the Soccer Commissioner and/or Field Assistant to be detrimental to the tournament or its participants. Persons responsible for such detrimental behavior may be expelled from the tournament and the soccer complex.
