Recreational Cornhole Series Overview
Our Recreational Cornhole Series is built around fun, fairness, and friendly competition. Enjoy the game, meet new people, tip your bartender, and help keep the atmosphere positive.
All players are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and follow the rules provided below:
Schedules & Standings
FORMAT
Boards & Bags
- 27 feet apart (front edge to front edge)
- Players bring their own bags
Match Structure
- Each match is a 3-game series
- First team to 21 points wins the game
- Play all 3 games to maximize points!
Scoring
- 3 points — bag in the hole
- 1 point — bag on the board (bounced bags do not count)
- Cancellation scoring applies (points offset each other; remaining points count)
- Final match scores must be reported at the end of the match. Turn in the signed scoresheets to the Bookkeeper
Time Slots
- Games begin at 6:00 PM and 6:45 PM
- Teams must be ready at their assigned board
Forfeits & Make‑ups
- 10‑minute grace period after the scheduled start time
- After 10 minutes: the late team forfeits Game 1
- After 20 minutes: the late team forfeits the match
- Make‑up requests must be communicated to the Rec. Series Commissioner by BOTH captains before the scheduled start time
TEAMS
Cost
- $10 per player
Team Size
- No maximum roster size (3–4 recommended for substitutions)
- 2 players compete at a time; substitutions allowed between games
- Each team must designate one captain
Throwing Order
- Players alternate throws
- The same player throws all four bags each round
- Teams decide who goes first. (rock, paper, scissors - coin flip - bag spin - etc.)
Foot Faults
- Players must release the bag before crossing the front edge of the board
Conduct
- Do not touch bags or boards until the round is fully scored and mutually agreed
Disputes
- Captains handle minor issues
- Escalations go to the Rec. Series Commissioner, whose decision is final
