Please pay attention to the following for the Madyira Amhlope league
The League will run for approximately two months starting 25 September 2023
0. This league will be bound by the Black-Ball Rules displayed on the walls at the venue
1. Booking of participation to play should be confirmed through first come first serve and booking on the fixtures white board.
2. All matches have to be played during the prescribed fixtures dates.
3. Players should only register for the league if and only if they are certain that they will be available to fulfil their allocated fixtures during the defined period. No special arrangements will be made for this league to accommodate scheduled absenteeism or otherwise.
4. Fixtures that fail to be played within the specified schedule period will be forfeited for no points to either player. While extenuating circumstances may be accommodated, The Committee strongly discourages requests for deviation from the rules as much as possible.
5. Players who evidently and unreasonably refuse to fulfil scheduled fixtures upon invitation by opponent will automatically be subjected to a walkover at the discretion of the committee.
6. Referees shall be selected from the eligible players as and when a game is played. The Committee reserves the right to disqualify or exclude a player from being nominated as a referee on grounds of them being deemed unfit at the time.
7. There will be designated scoreline capturers. All scores should be posted in the Section WhatsApp group as always immediately after the game by the respective referee. Players are encouraged to ensure that the referee has indeed posted the scoreline to avoid cases of missing results.
8. All players shall refrain from behaviour that can bring the league into disrepute, or else risk being ejected from the league. This includes foul language, violence, rules infringements, disruption of matches, disrespect towards other players, betting, misuse or abuse of equipment, and any other such behaviour as may be deemed inappropriate by the section Committee
9. All games shall be played at Belgravia Sports Club, Belgravia, unless otherwise formally approved by the committee.
10. No games to be played after 10pm.
11. No betting of any sort is allowed, whether direct or indirect, during league matches
12. For clarity, matches that end in a stalemate will be replayed in accordance with the Black Ball rules as displayed in the Games Room.
13. Where a player wins on a technicality but was losing in terms of the score, the winning player will be awarded a score of “the losing player’s score” +1
14. Where reasonable and possible the committee will consult the members via WhatsApp polls or other means to gain consensus over a decision point. This does not constitute the absolving of the Committees duty to lead responsibly, and it will be at their discretion to exercise the option, in which case the majority vote will be decisive.
