2025 Women's Spring League

ACTUAL DATES: March 26th-May 14th

The goal of this league is to give newer and casual players an opportunity to develop at whatever level of play they are currently in, while encouraging the community as a whole and helping each other improve. Whether you're new to ultimate frisbee or looking to refine your skills, this league provides a supportive environment where players can grow in a welcoming and warm environment. Through minis, skill-focused drills, and mentorship from experienced players, participants have the chance to gain confidence and a deeper understanding of the game.

Beyond individual development, this league emphasizes the importance of teamwork, spirit of the game, and building a strong ultimate frisbee community. By fostering connections between players of all backgrounds and skill levels, we aim to create an inclusive space where everyone feels valued and motivated to improve. Whether you're here to improve your skills, learn how to cut, or simply enjoy throwing and catching a disc, this league is designed to challenge and encourage you.

After teams meet for a skill lesson and demonstration, teams will play two 40 minute games with a 5 minute halftime.

A mentor plays a different role than a captain. As an experienced player, a mentor is assigned a few new players to guide throughout the league, providing support and one-on-one encouragement. They help individual players improve by offering advice, refining skills, and answering questions. Mentors may also pull players aside for additional coaching, ensuring they gain confidence and develop their abilities.
The integrity of ultimate depends on each player's responsibility to uphold the Spirit of the Game, and this responsibility should remain paramount. Highly competitive play is encouraged, but never at the expense of mutual respect among competitors, adherence to agreed upon rules, or the joy of play. By agreeing to play any of Knoxville Ultimate's adult leagues, you agree to the following; I agree to treat others with respect -I will play in a way that is safe to myself and others on the field. -I will communicate from a place of compassion and encouragement. -I will consider other people's diverse backgrounds and treat everyone in our community with dignity no matter their race, religion, place of origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, economic status, or skill level. -I will refrain from using crude or abusive language. I agree to be a good steward of Knoxville Ultimate -I will be a good citizen and follow all rules. -I will abide by the, "leave no trace," axiom and pick up after myself and my teammates. -I will make space for all players to play in the position they choose. -I will support new teammates who are learning the sport and give them ample opportunities to grow. I understand that any infringement of the Code of Conduct will be reviewed by the Knoxville Ultimate Board, which may lead to an appropriate disciplinary measure including, but not limited to, suspension or expulsion from Knoxville Ultimate leagues and events.
